Le questionnaire : Marianne Dissard

 Installée depuis son enfance aux Etats-Unis, Marianne Dissard a  construit depuis le début des années 2000, une discographie sous l’influence du son de Tucson en Arizona tout en collaborant avec des gens comme Amor Belhom Duo, Giant Sand, Fredda, Françoiz Breut ou encore Howe Gelb. En 2014, elle sort son nouvel album "The Cat. Not me",  un album chanté en français, enregistré en Arizona et  composé par Sergio Mendoza, le multi-instrumentiste du groupe Calexico. Un album aux ambiances et aux tempos très contrastés, un disque poétique et très beau.

Un Souvenir : It's hot on that beach in Managua. The stranded Yankee volunteers sit idly on the beach in stiff and torn uniforms. They kill time by playing push-pin sword fights, their bloodied fingers hovered-over by spanish flies, their lips stained from firebrand chiles, in wait of yet another tremor of this or that revolution, next to stinking soldiers' corpses rotting half-buried in the sand, staring vaguely at the rumbling volcano beyond the lake and trying distractedly to remember the moans of their girlfriends back home.

Un souhait : To  be singing along to a new favorite hit, 'A Boy Named Sue" on the AM radio as I drive my shiny Cadillac down the interstate, wielding a kid around who thinks I'm his savior. But maybe this time, the movie is set not by the Mexican border but on another zone of friction, in Palermo and Gloria finds refuge inside a variety show theater and meets Joséphine Baker who's just stepped off stage in her thorny costume. The entertainer hides them both in her loge, the kid still grasping at his worn-out copy of Gargantua. When the bad boys barge through at last, Joséphine is in downward-dog, her giant feathery petticoat hiding the kid while I strike a Bauschian pose in front of the blue velvet curtains and manage to escape harm by making myself invisible in a buto sort of way. As for what Opposition, A Sufi And A Killer and Rhymesayers have in common, well, I'll let you figure that one out. It's easy. Good night!
